Shannon College encourages mature and non-standard applicants for its degree courses. To be considered as a mature applicant, the individual should be aged 23 years or over on the 1 st January of the year in which they wish to gain entry to the degree program. Applications by mature candidates must be made to the Central Applications Office by the deadline specified.

Upon receiving a mature applicant's details from the CAO, Shannon College arranges an interview time and location with the applicant. Mature students have been very successful in their studies at the College as their life and work experience have proven invaluable in their studies and to fellow students.
