Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Dr. Leo Varadkar T. D., visited Shannon College of Hotel Management last week during a visit to the Midwest. While here, Minister Varadkar had an opportunity to meet the staff and students and to take a tour of the college’s classes and facilities.

As Ireland’s only dedicated hotel management college, Shannon College’s graduates and students make an important contribution to Irish hospitality. During his visit, Minister Varadkar was introduced to the programmes offered and the college’s approach to hotel management education, in order to understand the college’s role in the wider tourism industry.

Finally, Mr. Smyth, Shannon College Director, presented Minister Varadkar with a copy of the college’s recently published book of research papers and a specially made college chef jacket to remind him of the professional education students receive at Shannon College of Hotel Management.
